Fuel pump outlet grommets (also referred to as outlet seals or outlet o-rings), are crucial in building and maintaining fuel system pressure. Many powersports fuel pump assemblies use outlet seals in between the fuel pump motor and the plastic assembly in order to seal the transition from the fuel pump to the primary fuel line. If the outlet seal has deteriorated, fuel pressure will bleed back into the tank, which can cause a hard starting condition, or reduced engine performance.
