Starting in 1998, Ford changed their fuel system design from a "return" style fuel system to a returnless system. Using a conventional 255LPH fuel pump in your 1998-2011 Mustang will lead to premature failure. The only viable option is to run an external pump setup, or use an intank pump that is specifically designed to handle the voltage fluctuations of a returnless fuel system.
